Songs! Amazing right? Of all of the havoc we’ve visited upon this planet, we did invent songs. These sacred, fun, amazing transformational short pieces of art.
Songs are unique. You create a gift unlike anything other gift they will ever receive.
It’s great fun to write a song. It’s personal. You get to put a lot of thought into who you are creating your song for.
What If You Wrote A Song For Yourself…Or For The World?
It would be enough to just listen, dance, and sing but what if….you wrote the song?
Now that would be exceptionally cool. And it is!
I’ve been writing songs for decades and it continues to transform me in ways I don’t quite understand. It is a great adventure. Songs will lead you to places so funny, beautiful, sad and unexpected.
I have written hundreds of songs. Some have been heard on NPR and the lyrics have been read by Garrison Keillor on The Writer’s Almanac. I have recorded three albums for children (two of which have won the Parents’ Choice Gold Medals) and three for adults (the most recent was termed “one of the best records of the year” by WXPN Radio).
Gosh that sounded kinda braggy but what I am trying to say is that because of experience, I am a pretty good writer. But I have discovered I am a better listener and teacher.
